Just You…Just Right
Now that the New Year has arrived, everywhere you look you see advertisements touting “New Year, New You”. Wait a minute. Every time I hear that phrase, I think “there is nothing really wrong with the Old me”. There may be things that I have to work on, attitudes that may need adjusting, but basically I am pretty satisfied with who I am.
We all have things we need to work on. We may need to lose a couple pounds…not because we want to be model thin, but because the weight around our bellies can adversely affect our health. We may need to let go of those negative people and influences in our lives, because they are keeping us from reaching our happiness potential. Or we may need to make an effort to stop interfering in the lives of our children, simply because it could affect our loving relationships.
I may not love every aspect of me, but I sure do love me! Learn how to love who you are, how you are. Only then can you look at the attitudes or feelings you are holding on to that you need to work on. (Notice that I did not say change; I said work on.)
If you are over 40, it is highly unlikely that you can change anything about yourself. You are formed, baked, cooked, and molded into every little thing about yourself. From the way you walk, talk, think, act, and even react. But what you can do is to learn patience, love, trust, understanding, caring, respect, gratitude and moderation in your life. Those are the attributes that will make you automatically be kinder and gentler.
This year, join in our Life Circle. The Circle is a group of no more than 15 ladies who meet monthly to share, grow, learn, laugh, and experience life’s glorious changes. Each month we focus on a new topic of growth such as, journaling, learning to let go, loving yourself first, developing your personal affirmations, being alone and not lonely, and other topics that affirm your life’s worth. These Circles are warm, inviting, trusting, and a great vehicle for expressing your true emotions in an environment of trust and sharing. Guest speakers are invited to share their experiences and journeys.

Testimonials from Workshops:
“I can’t believe how you defined my life! Everything you said hit home on so many levels. Your humor and understanding made me realize that I am not alone in my feelings, and that how I feel is O.K.”
“You give a workshop and are not afraid to share your warts, bad habits, and failings along with the rest of us. That makes me feel that I can continue to grow without being afraid.”
“Great workshop. What I liked best was your sense of humor and ability to get us to share our feelings, but first honestly admit that we have those feelings.”
