The Ultimate Paradise

Spas are often thought of as a tranquil place for relaxation and escape from daily routines. It can be the perfect getaway to clear your mind or a place to reconnect with family, friends, or your sweetheart.

Beyond the social aspect, however, there are many benefits of owning a spa. Spas can reduce the tension that many of us feel due to the pressure of our fast-paced and demanding schedules. This often leads to stress resulting in muscle tension, headaches, fatigue, and soreness. A spa is the perfect place to relax from the strain of daily life. As the heat is increasing blood flow to the muscles, the water buoyancy gives relief from the pressure on joints and muscles, while stimulating the release of pain killing endorphins.

Battle insomnia

A poll by the National Sleep Foundation found that approximately 132 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders including mild to chronic insomnia, pauses in breathing and snoring. Sleep researchers believe that many cases of insomnia can be traced to hectic, stressful lifestyles. The results of sleep deprivation vary and may cause battered nerves, fatigue, lapses in memory, depression, and erratic mood swings.

According to a recent study on sleep in the Scientific Journal, a drop in body temperature can help to ease your body into a deeper, more relaxing sleep. Therefore it is suggested that you soak in very hot water (103° F) approximately 15 minutes before bedtime. This causes the body’s internal thermostat to pull your temperature down, allowing sleep to set in with more ease.

Weight loss

Simply soaking in hot water has been found to reduce blood sugar levels and increase weight loss. A spa can support a diet or exercise plan and rejuvenate tired muscles and joints. Even more effective than soaking in a spa is doing aquatic exercises in a spa. This is especially beneficial for individuals with health problems such as arthritis, shortness of breath and high blood pressure. Aquatic exercise helps build heart and lung capacity and muscle strength without the side effects of painful joints.

Ease arthritis

Spas are great for relaxation, but they can also be used for therapeutic reasons as well. A report from the Mayo Clinic by Dr. Thomas G. Allison states that sufferers of heart disease can significantly lower their blood pressure by soaking in a spa for 15 minutes daily. Millions of Americans have been diagnosed with arthritis or chronic joint pain. With the use of a spa, however, many of the painful symptoms resulting from arthritis may be lessened. The Arthritis Foundation recognizes the beneficial effects of hydromassage on sore muscles, stiff joints and circulation. Warm water therapy relieves the stress on joints, improves blood flow, relieves pain, and minimizes physical limitations set on by arthritis.
