How to Turn $500 into $5,000 – Do Nothing!

That’s right. You can turn $500 into $5000 just by doing nothing. The thing is, you don’t receive the money, you lose the money. By neglecting home maintenance, a small, inexpensive job can take on monstrous proportions. Instead of spending $500 you must spend more, maybe much more, on home repairs.

We at D and J Home Contracting LLC have seen it happen. Homeowners, busy people such as yourselves, neglect to take care of small home maintenance problems. Soon, what could have been a simple fix becomes a major rebuild. Peeling paint leads to rotting wood, which has to be cut out and replaced, then repainted. So, if you are going to have to break out the paint anyway, why not spend a little cash on preventive maintenance? Paint the wood before it rots and prolong its life significantly–preferably until after you have moved out.
I’m Jim, owner of D and J Home Contracting LLC. We work on homes. Our handyman service can maintain your most valuable possession so that a small job doesn’t become a big expensive money pit. A good guideline for budgeting home maintenance is 1% of the homes value per year. A $250,000 home can expect to average $2,500 on annual maintenance costs. It may not be every year. Some jobs , like roof replacement, may eat up several years worth of the maintenance budget.

But I am here concerned about the small jobs that, if not addressed, can lead to big headaches. If you need our handyman services do not hesitate to call us at (302) 233-2670. That’s my cell phone number. If I don’t answer it’s because my hands are full at the moment. So leave a message and I’ll get back to you.

In the next issue I will write about improving your home. Maybe we can turn that money losing equation I used above into a money maker for you. Until then if you need a handyman, remember– Don’t call him, call Jim.

Testimonial: “Steve and Jim replaced my dryer vent. They are God Sent! I can now dry a load of clothes in less than one drying cycle instead of over many hours. Thank you Steve and Jim for a job well done”
