NATURAL STONE ENHANCES THE BEAUTY OF YOUR HOME
What should I look for when I am choosing my granite?
Never select your granite from a sample. Samples are too small for you to see the movement and color variations that occur in an entire slab. Samples should only be used for getting an idea of what you want in regards to color and style. Because stone is mined from the earth, each stone will be different in color and movement. It is very important that you see the actual slab that will be used for your job. It is for this reason that we have over 400 slabs in inventory at Ancient Art Stone.
When I get pricing for stone, there are different levels. What do they mean? Is a Level 1 not as good as a Level 5?
No, level has nothing to do with quality. It has to do with availability, mining and transportation cost. The higher levels are generally harder to mine and/or transport.

Does it matter which supplier I choose? After all, granite is granite.
If you were building a house would you choose any old contractor because wood is wood? We believe in customer education when selecting your stone. Our staff is highly educated in stone, design and fabrication. And we do “extras” that others don’t to ensure your highest satisfaction. For example, natural stone has movement in it. We work with the stone to ensure that the flow or movement in the stone is smooth and unbroken. We also polish the underside of the counter top edge for a smooth feel. We use the highest technology in Templating and cutting to ensure the tightest fit possible at the seams.
At Ancient Art Stone, we also carry all the accessories you need to complement your granite tops – sinks, faucets, granite drawer pulls, wall and floor tile, hardwood flooring and carpeting. Everything is in one place and you can see how it will all work together.
How can I tell how the granite will look in my home?
The first step to creating a natural stone project in your home is the Templating process. At Ancient Art Stone, we use a digital Templater which produces a clear Mylar template. The template is positioned on the actual stone (that you yourself choose!) allowing you to see how the stone will look when placed in each part of your project – you will see where seams will be and how the movement of each piece relates to the other pieces
Are granite tops hard to care for?
NO! Caring for granite tops is as easy as spraying a sealer on the tops a couple of times per year, waiting a few minutes, and then wiping it off.
